It is normal to experience a wide variety of emotions in the process of pursuing infertility treatment. Caring for your emotional health and wellness are paramount throughout your fertility journey. We would love for you to share some unique ways that you deal with the stress of infertility. One randomly selected winner will receive this pineapple fairy house! “I did yoga with my mom and my husband always made me laugh and smile even through the tough times. I would always tell myself it will happen when time is right and be yourself and not worry. Dr. Feinberg and Rhonda always made me feel better and Rhonda gave me tips and ideas for healthy eating.” -Brittney

“After 5 years of “waiting for my life to begin with a baby” I instead decided on a big distraction that would benefit my future family. I went back to school to obtain my masters in nursing through a family nurse practitioner program. The saying is true, it’s not always your timing. My advice is to travel or start/complete a project or goal that can move your future family forward. Short term daily activities included scrapbooking, walks & playing games! Find what works for you. Remember you are NOT alone. There are many of us who are struggled or are still struggling. It’s a roller coaster of emotions and stain. Support groups and finding someone to chat with will help immensely. We are very thankful for all the support RAD gave us in giving us our little girl (our rainbow after the storm)” -Rose

“Running has been my stress release throughout my journey as I’ve run 12 marathons and over 30 half marathons since I started treatments in 2014. I also used it as well as social media to speak out about infertility and miscarriage as I have 2 angels. I’m also a musician so it helps to schedule gigs around transfers so I have something else to focus on the weeks leading up to the transfer.” -Chrissy

“I started writing a devotional geared towards women struggling with infertility. Getting my thoughts and insecurities out has truly helped me and I pray once it’s finished will help women all over the world! Also breaking the stigma of silence around my infertility journey, talking to people about it has helped immensely.” -Meredith

“Sharing the journey through Social Media (Anonymously)! It gives you the opportunity to be raw and honest about all aspects of the journey….sharing the heartaches, the joys, and the unknowns. And it connects you to a community of women and men that can relate and support you through the journey!” -Samantha

This may sound counter productive but I “schedule” my worry time and let my self stress away during those two times (on the elliptical and in the shower) and if I’m not in one of those two places, I tell myself I’m not allowed to think about it. It took practice but after 4 years, I’ve got it down to a science.-Alix

“My journey was many years ago – long before social media helped to connect with others. My saving grace is a strong sense of humor. I sought out the funny in all the hoops you have to jump through (c’mon admit it that a “hostile uterus test” is funny stuff). Anyway, it helped me immensely and someday, someway I have a stand-up routine ready to go!” -Donna

“I worked out, specially my Pure Barre excessive routine and the amazing group of ladies in the Pure Barre studio helped me immensely through my journey, those 50 mins of class would keep me out of my head since I needed to concentrate in the muscles I had to work on. And of course all the ladies in the studio the ones knowing what I was going through and the ones that didn’t supported me and distracted me.

I swear I probably drove Rhonda and Sue crazy asking “when I can work out?”, or maybe they thought I was crazy for being concern about that. I will always remembered everyone’s happiness when I came back pregnant.

Also, my husband’s sense of humor, I swear he made me and sometimes everyone in our appointment laughed!

And last but not least EVERYONE at RAD, staff, clinicians, doctors, nurses, they always made us feel like family, they are all so invested and so supportive to each and everyone one of us (which I admired immensely) that I cried the day I “graduated” because I was going to miss them so much!” -Beatriz

"Dr. McGuirk is a very holistic doctor. She doesn’t just treat the fertility issues. She also points out personal health ideas (juicing, whole 30) to help heal/treat the whole patient. She is honest and open. Be open minded and trust in her process. This is a marathon, not a sprint! Dr. McGuirk will be with you the whole way."
