Our New and Improved EmbryoScope+ Is the Latest Technology to Assist in Our Patients’ Success

RADfertility’s laboratory has welcomed the addition of two new EmbryoScope+ time-lapse incubators, the latest state-of-the-art technology that enhances IVF success for our patients. The EmbryoScope+ is a combination incubator, time-lapse camera and microscope that helps our embryologists select the embryo for transfer with the highest chance of resulting in a successful pregnancy during the IVF process. The original EmbryoScope made its debut at RADfertility in 2013 and this new model provides even more insight into an embryo’s development.
This novel technology creates a stable culture environment for the embryos and continuous observation. A photo of the embryo is taken every 10 minutes which creates a video that shows its growth during its time in the incubator. Without time-lapse, embryos must be taken out of the incubator to be assessed, exposing them to unnecessary stress and fluctuations.

EmbryoScope+ time-lapse technology, when used in combination with preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies (PGT-A), is a powerful tool in the decision-making process. This is why our IVF For ME (Maximal Efficiency) program now includes PGT-A and the use of EmbryoScope+ to monitor embryo development from its first cells.

Additionally, EmbryoScope+ utilizes software that has gathered information from thousands of IVF cycles performed worldwide. This creates an artificial intelligence algorithm from the morphokinetic data that will soon identify development patterns most likely to yield a successful result for our patients, which is our ultimate goal.
