Making a Difference
The purpose of RADfertility’s Making a Difference series is to highlight the dedicated organizations and individuals in the community available to help you on your journey.
Making a Difference – Men Having Babies
In 2005, Ron Poole-Dayan, then a father of 4 year old twins from surrogacy, asked the LGBT Center in New York City to create a monthly workshop for men who are interested in biological parenting. Fast forward to today, and what started as a workshop is now a worldwide nonprofit organization dedicated to providing gay men with educational and financial support to achieve parenthood through surrogacy.
Fearless Mamas and Mamas-To-Be
Inspired by all the wonderful friendships that have formed through the Fearless Femmes Facing Fertility Facebook group, RADfertility patients Caitlin and Sondra launched Fearless Mamas and Mamas-To-Be in 2020 for members of the Fearless Femmes who have achieved pregnancy or motherhood following infertility.
Delaware Chapter of The TEARS Foundation
When members of a local pregnancy loss support group joined together with the mission of helping others going through similar tragedies while also honoring the life of their child, the Delaware Chapter of The TEARS Foundation was born.
The RAD Patient Support Group
We had the opportunity to connect with Lindsay Griffin, the host of The RAD Patient Support Group to learn more about her mission, some details of the group, and how she plans on making a difference.
Footsteps for Maddie
Since 2018, Footsteps for Maddie has raised over $14,000 to support the Bayhealth Foundation’s bereavement program for families who have experienced a loss.
Fearless Femmes Facing Fertility
Since her official diagnosis, RAD patient, Sondra Wyckoff, has been an advocate for the infertility community, determined to help other women feel less alone.
Alisha McCanney and Willow Counseling Services
As an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Delaware, Alisha McCanney has had the opportunity to work with many different populations. It wasn’t until she personally faced a reproductive health issue that Alisha noticed a gap in reproductive mental health resources.
Freelee Life Services
The FreeLee Life Services assists with funding for women who need help covering fees for infertility and for same sex & transgender couples who need financial assistance toward artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization (IVF) or adoption fees.
The ART of Infertility
The ART of Infertility’s mission is to break the silence around the experiences of infertility, offering art and storytelling as therapeutic heuristics to capture and express the realities, pains, and joys of infertility.
