Embryo Freezing and Storage
Embryo cryopreservation allows tools like preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies (PGT-A, formerly known as PGS) to be used by experts at RADfertility to increase the likelihood of pregnancy. It also provides the opportunity for future family planning.
Embryo Freezing and Storage
Couples freeze their embryos for a variety of reasons. After an IVF cycle, patients may choose to freeze their remaining embryos (cryopreservation) from a fresh cycle for future pregnancy attempts. Individual embryos cryopreserved by vitrification and warmed properly for embryo transfer lead to healthy pregnancies 55% to 65% of the time if the embryo has a normal chromosome count.
For women who are interested in future pregnancy, embryo creation and cryopreservation is a more proven option than simply egg freezing, since diagnostic tools like preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies (PGT-A) can be used to increase the likelihood of pregnancy. However, by creating embryos with a male partner, women share ownership of their embryos with that partner unless they use an anonymous sperm donor. Some women therefore choose to electively freeze both embryos and unfertilized eggs to help preserve future fertility.
