Support for Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Because our patient community is filled with extraordinary people doing extraordinary things, members of a local pregnancy loss support group joined together with the mission of helping others going through similar tragedies while also honoring the life of their child. The Delaware Chapter of The TEARS Foundation was born. The TEARS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that seeks to lift the financial and emotional burden of bereaved families and is committed to helping them honor the life of their child.

ChristianaCare’s Loving Arms Parent Support Group is for families who have experienced a pregnancy loss. The group is facilitated by trained bereavement staff that provide a confidential and safe place for members to ask questions, share thoughts, or just listen. Support group meetings are typically held the third Monday of every month at Christiana Hospital from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the support groups are virtual at this time.

Footsteps for Maddie is a local nonprofit organization raising money and awareness for pregnancy and infant loss resources. They currently support Bayhealth Foundation’s bereavement program that provides training to hospital staff, a rainbow baby program, and the purchase of products for families who lose a child.

Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) strives to support women pregnant after a loss and encourage them to choose hope over fear while nurturing grief during a subsequent pregnancy. Pregnancy After Loss Support accomplishes this goal through services for both the mom (and her partner) pregnant again after a loss and the providers who treat her. PALS services include an online magazine, online peer-moderated support groups, local meet-ups, outreach and education through speaking and tabling at professional conferences, resource listings for families and healthcare providers, a newsletter, and an app.

Growing Your Family Through Egg Donation

They offer a large list of resources and are always adding new information and educational opportunities for intended parents.
Financial Assistance
The Evan David Foundation helps individuals and couples afford fertility treatments that can help them. The foundation was established in 2011 to provide financial assistance to those who live or work in Delaware, have had difficulty conceiving or maintaining a pregnancy, and cannot afford the reproductive medical treatments that could help them.
Baby Quest Foundation provides financial assistance through fertility grants to those who cannot afford the costs of procedures such as IVF (in vitro fertilization), gestational surrogacy, egg and sperm donation, egg freezing, artificial insemination, and embryo donation.
Facebook Support Group
Inspired by the online support and seeing how many women shared their stories during National Infertility Awareness Week, RADfertility patient, Sondra, wanted to continue the momentum. That is how the Fearless Femmes Facing Fertility Facebook community came about! This online group strives to be a safe place where you can share your struggles, questions, hopeful humor, and enjoy each other’s company. The community also has a calendar with virtual meetup opportunities to discuss and address certain topics while continuing to support one another. It is a special place for those on the road to motherhood.
In 2019, RADfertility patient, Sondra, created the Fearless Femmes Facing Fertility Facebook community where women on the road to motherhood could connect through their struggles, questions and hopeful humor. Inspired by all the wonderful friendships that have formed through this resource, RADfertility patients Caitlin and Sondra launched Fearless Mamas and Mamas-To-Be in 2020 for members of the Fearless Femmes who have achieved pregnancy or motherhood following infertility.
