Infertility Registered Nurse (RN)

RADfertility is currently seeking an experienced, energetic, and skilled Infertility Registered Nurse (RN) who is a team player and is ready for a challenging position.

An Infertility Registered Nurse (RN) provides care to RADfertility patients by completing a specialized nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients and supervising other clinical personnel as needed.

EXTENDED DESCRIPTION

Job Function

The Infertility Registered Nurse (RN) will strive to provide ethical, professional and compassionate patient care. To maintain daily patient care through clinical and administrative duties, working closely with the physicians, clinicians, and support staff. The RN will triage phone calls, review patient labs and communicate findings with physicians/and or clinicians. Educate and counsel patients on a variety of issues, including but not limited to : infertility, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), early pregnancy, pre and post operative follow up; Genetics and Tubal reversal consultations; IVF and infertility injection teaching; assisting in IVF and clinical procedures; Monitor OHSS patients; Start and monitor IV intravenous fluids; Act as a patient advocate.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and Training

  •  Registered Nurse
  •  Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred
  • Experience in Womens Health and or ART preferred
  • Delaware Licensure (current without limitations)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Ability to prioritize caseload management
  • Flexibility with work schedule including weekends, holidays and traveling to satellite offices

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  •  Knowledge of patient assessment and triage
  • Phlebotomy & Injections
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with patients and staff
  • Knowledge of medical and endocrine conditions and ability to learn fertility related issues
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures including sterile techniques, hand hygiene and infection control protocols
  • Ability to react calmly and act effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Collaborate with clinical staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams and executive officers to keep them informed at all times
  • Ability to work with others in a closed environment and highly stressful area

Responsibilities

Clinical

  • Triage phone calls, review with providers, return phone call to patients in a timely matter and document appropriately
  • Review labs, review with providers, communicate with patients and document follow up appropriately
  • Review abnormal labs with providers and follow up with patients as needed
  • Educate patients on appropriate topics and ask for help when needed
  • Injection teaching using aseptic techniques
  • Assist with office procedures including oocyte retrievals and embryo transfers
  • Maintenance of Pap log
  • Maintenance of Pathology log
  • Maintenance of OSHA office guidelines for clinical areas
  • Communicate with physicians, clinicians, lab staff and administrators regarding daily patient care
  • Ability to call in or send through the message center prescriptions as ordered by a physician or clinician
  • Assist in any and all aspects of office procedures as needed using sterile techniques
  • Issuance of correspondence to referring physician offices including but not limited to initial OB letter, discharge OB letters, referrals to primary care providers and specialists
  • Performs other duties as delegated by physicians, clinical support staff manager, clinicians or executive committee member
  • Perform duties according to the State of Delaware Nursing Board Practice Act
  • Travel to satellite offices
  • Ability to answer phones and collect messages to ensure patient needs are addressed timely
  • Managing your duties within the time allotted. Any overtime must be approved by your supervisor in advance.

Administrative

  • Greet patients, physicians and other employees in a professional manner.
  • Create a ”patient experience” through concierge service using hospitality skills.
  • Assist patients with questions and concerns.
  • Maintain patient charts as needed.
  • Communicate daily with clinical, other patient care coordinators, physicians and lab staff regarding any urgent patient care needs.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Miscellaneous

  • Maintain the organization of your work areas
  • Assist in all aspects of our office when needed

IVF Coordinator / Registered Nurse (RN)

RADfertility is currently seeking an experienced, energetic, and skilled IVF Coordinator / Infertility Registered Nurse (RN) who is a team player and is ready for a challenging position.

An IVF Coordinator / Infertility Registered Nurse (RN) provides care to RADfertility patients by completing a comprehensive coordination process for IVF and FETs, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members and providing administrative and psychological support to patients. This position is an administrative position that utilizes clinical knowledge to maximize patient experience.

EXTENDED DESCRIPTION

Job Function

Perform all IVF-related patient coordination to ensure patient care is streamlined and complete. Maintain physician, ultrasound, nursing, and lab schedule. Greet and direct all patient in regards to their IVF needs. Maintain constant communication with physician, clinical staff, administration, lab staff, and outside surgical facilities regarding patient care/scheduling. Deliver exceptional customer service to all of RADfertility’s patients and staff. To maintain daily patient care through clinical and administrative duties, working closely with the physicians, clinicians, and support staff.

Responsibilities

Telephone

  • Answer calls and forward to the appropriate party in a timely manner.
  • Ability to answer phones and collect messages to ensure patient needs are addressed timely.

Filing and Charting

  • Maintain patient charts as needed.

Administrative Support

  • Administrative support to Management staff.
  • Communicate daily with clinical, other patient care coordinators, physicians and lab staff regarding any urgent patient care needs.
  • Type and send business correspondence.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Computer Skills

  • Data entry and clerical processing/entry in databases or other programs in order to create easier data distribution.
  • Compile, create, and maintain various reports.
  • Extensive computer literacy. Includes intermediate to advanced knowledge of all of the following: Microsoft Word & Excel. Understanding of the Internet and e-mail.

Financial

  • Communicate to patients their financial responsibility in regards to IVF coverage.
  • Update Mac Practice system when necessary for patient appointments to include printing of charge slips, face sheets, patient demographics, noting, etc.

Coordination Specific

  • Provides organized coordination of patients care needs as it relates to our work-up phase as well as IVF cycles.
  • Maintain protocols for IVF Coordination.
  • Communicate to physicians, clinicians, staff and patients to ensure patient scheduling needs are met.
  • Direct interaction with insurance carriers and patients regarding infertility / IVF coverage, pre-certification, authorizations and referrals.
  • Assist in the educational needs for patients pertaining to all aspects of infertility, IVF and endocrinology.
  • Process prescription refill requests and provide clinical direction regarding the refill is properly obtained.
  • Review and implement Plan of Care as determined by physician.
  • Educate patients regarding diagnostic testing, infertility treatment, and various laboratory testing.
  • Scheduling of lab testing, infertility testing, and various appointments for patient as determined by physicians and/or clinicians.
  • Follow up with patients to ensure all ordered/necessary testing is scheduled and completed prior to Next Step Consult/treatment cycle.
  • Review of patient chart prior to scheduling Next Step Consult to ensure all testing is completed and requested reports/records are obtained.
  • Process prescription/refills request after reviewing patients chart to ensure appropriate.
  • Educate patient after Next Step Consult on IVF/FET cycles as determined by physician including insurance coverage, self-pay pricing, and required appointments.
  • Obtain lab results from various laboratories via online access or telephone request.
  • Obtain prior authorizations/referrals for infertility treatment cycles
  • Schedule consults and testing with outside facilities (i.e.-HSG’s, other specialists, MRI’s, mammogram’s, etc.)
  • Send required order and/or records to outside facilities for patient being referred out for consults/testing
  • Obtain referrals/authorizations for patients going to outside facilities
  • Answer patient phone calls pertaining to infertility care as appropriate or direct call/question to clinician for response.
  • Complete Encounter forms for each patient seen for physician consult, including appropriate office visit code and correct diagnosis code.
  • Maintain relationship with pharmaceutical representatives and other outside facilities that we deal with on a regular basis including requesting samples and/or supplies from these companies.
  • Maintain relationships with donor partners.
  • Communicate with agencies to obtain necessary records, coordinate shipping, and receiving, ensure proper appointment for our patients.
  • Contact IVF centers to coordinate out-of-state monitoring to include orders, scheduling, and receiving test results.
  • Appointments for all IVF cycles to include pre-work (i.e. Mock transfers) needed.
  • Overview of financial options for cash-payers; obtain assistance from Billing Department when necessary.
  • Review of benefits for all IVF patients.
  • Communicate necessary payments to patients and ensure collections.
  • Complete preliminary PGT-A, PGT-M, education, schedule with Genetic Counselor, obtain all necessary consents.
  • Ensure written consents are thoroughly reviewed with patients, signed, and witnessed.
  • Ensure all cycles are entered in the treatment manager.
  • Order appropriate medicines for IVF and FET cycles.

Miscellaneous

  • General office duties to include; photocopying, faxing and filing
  • Gather and Record data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to establish systems of accountability.
  • Assist in all aspects of our office when needed.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.
